Marmite bagel.

Lunch:

Beans on toast, made by P.

Working from home today, and having to work over lunch due to someone not sending me something until very late.

Dinner:

Chicken and tarragon pie, with potato wedges and baked beans.

Mini croissants, with butter and seville orange marmalade.

Brunch:

Evidently the mini croissants at breakfast were too mini, so I had to give in at 11am and stuff myself with two pieces of toast with peanut butter.

Lunch:

Had some of the family round, so just a spread of various salads, ham, sausages and sausage rolls. You can probably tell it wasn’t a Bar Mitzvah.

Dinner:

After having such a late, grazing kind of lunch, dinner was taken very late and consisted of a bowl of noodles.

Toast with ham. Not a million miles away from the hotel breakfasts this week, but it’s still good to be home.

Lunch:

Thai-spiced fishcakes from a recently refurbished pub called The Inn on the Pond. Also ate the remains of A’s ham and cheddar baguette, along with her chips and some token salad. My review on Qype

Dinner:

Red chicken curry, made by P.

Scrambled egg on toast.

Lunch:

Meatloaf and mashed potato (bought by P from M&S). I do make home-made versions of these (which are tastier) but with a flight to catch, needs must.

Airplane:

Tuna and mayo / ham, cheese & pickle half-sandwiches, and a breakaway chocolate bar thing.

Dinner:

Arrived late (c’mon, I was flying from Terminal 5 – what do you expect?) so had to order some bar food from the limited menu. The hotel, in an effort to be all fusion-y, had a weird menu so I ended up with a salmon and wasabi bagel. Unfortunately, the wasabi had been spread like it was cream cheese, so every bite was a tearful experience, much to the amusement of my colleagues. If I hadn’t been so hungry, I’d have sent it back.

Toast, probably. Another forgettable meal. This is soooo wrong.

Lunch:

Had to pop out for a haircut and went for the lazy option of a McDonald’s Big Mac Meal, since I didn’t have to cook lunch for the whole family.

Dinner:

Steak and chips. I cooked the steak to perfection (rare), even if I do say so myself.

Two slices of toast with marmite. Then a couple of egg mayonnaise and bacon baguettes from Pret A Manger (delivered to work as part of a bulk order for a course I was helping to organise).

Lunch:

Singapore noodles from Miso Noodle Bar.

Dinner:

Oops, succumbed to the KFC monster again, because the kitchen was covered in flowers (P is sorting out a wedding tomorrow). Had a zinger burger with chips and a few hot wings.

Toast with ham, although A, as usual, decided my breakfast was more interesting than hers. I managed to barter with her (no mean feat, since she is only 16 months old) and got a strawberry in return for a piece of ham.

Lunch:

A fry up, consisting of sausages, streaky bacon, fried eggs and fried bread. Heart-attack-tastic.

Dinner:

A stew I made just after breakfast and had left in the slow cooker all day. Stewing steak was chucked in with onion, swede, new potatoes and chicken stock. Not one of my best, I must admit.

Toast, two slices of which topped with butter and garlic sausage, the remaining slice topped with butter and ham. Once again, A stole some of it.

Lunch:

Home-made pizza, topped with a modicum of ripped mozzarella, ham, torn basil leaves and sliced tomatoes (no tomato sauce). The pizza dough was actually a purloined section of the bread dough I had made in the morning. I love doing this kind of thing, because it’s so much nicer than shop-bought stuff and I know that I can feed it to A, and she’ll be getting food that’s tasty and good for her.

Dinner:

Another meal where A had some portioned off. This time, chicken paella. I made a schoolboy error in forgetting the chorizo for this, so it wasn’t as savoury as I’d have liked, but it was still nice. I also stirred in some cooked prawns into my portion (P doesn’t like prawns, for some bizarre reason).

That boring that I can’t actually remember.

Lunch:

A had to come home early from nursery, due to an unfortunate technicolour yawn, so all I managed to grab for lunch was a few slices of toast with butter and ham. A stole some of it, naturally.

Dinner:

Chicken fajitas (made with one of those Old El Paso kits).

Breakfast:

Toast with marmite again, although slightly less than two slices were consumed, since A always wants to steal some of my breakfast if I happen to time it wrong so that she’s nearly finished her own food.

Lunch:

After breakfast, I roasted up the beef toprump that we were supposed to have Sunday, then failing that, yesterday. For lunch, we just took slices from the beef (which was lovely, by the way – well worth spending a couple of quid extra on the organic joint that had been matured on the bone for longer than the norm), and stuffed them in a baguette with a smear of mustard. I ended up having two large baguettes, with a tin of Heinz tomato soup as well.

Dinner:

Home-made meat feast calzone. Basically, a normal pizza dough (which is basically bread dough) folded over, containing some mozzarella and various cured meats, like prosciutto and salami. Rather than put the tomato sauce into the calzone, I spooned it on afterwards. It was nice, although I think I’ll chuck in more mozzarella next time and work extra hard to thin out the dough when I roll it. I’m also contemplating buying a pizza stone to assist with the crisping up.
