Bill of fare for Thursday, 17th April
Breakfast:
A late one, in the office: bagel with chives-laced Philadelphia cream cheese
Lunch:
Ebi gyoza and beef ho fun, from Miso Noodle Bar in Richmond (a working lunch).
Dinner:
Chorizo risotto, made by P.
Bill of fare for Wednesday, 9th April
Breakfast:
Same as every other day this week, seeing as I’m in the same hotel and the selection doesn’t ever change.
Lunch:
Working lunch brought into the meeting room. Better than the normal boring Pret stuff we get in London, though. Open sandwiches with ham and salad on lovely crusty bread. Love the bread here in Germany.
Dinner:
Went to a place called Eiffel, which was an ever so slightly pretentious modern French(ish) restaurant. I had a starter of scallops on mango-lime chutney with a basil sorbet. Main course was spaghetti with prawns in a spicy tomato sauced embellished with curry spices. My review on Qype.
Bill of fare for Wednesday, 2nd April
Breakfast:
Hot cross bun. I think. I really ought to pay more attention at breakfast.
Lunch:
Pizza at work again. Lots of meat feast pizza and some pepperoni. Very, very bad.
Dinner:
King prawn fried rice, made by my own fair hands. The prawns were Ecuadorian organic king prawns (from Waitrose, natch, and probably costing about £20). Rice was left over from dinner on Sunday.
Bill of fare for Saturday, 29th March
Breakfast:
Toast, two slices of which topped with butter and garlic sausage, the remaining slice topped with butter and ham. Once again, A stole some of it.
Lunch:
Home-made pizza, topped with a modicum of ripped mozzarella, ham, torn basil leaves and sliced tomatoes (no tomato sauce). The pizza dough was actually a purloined section of the bread dough I had made in the morning. I love doing this kind of thing, because it’s so much nicer than shop-bought stuff and I know that I can feed it to A, and she’ll be getting food that’s tasty and good for her.
Dinner:
Another meal where A had some portioned off. This time, chicken paella. I made a schoolboy error in forgetting the chorizo for this, so it wasn’t as savoury as I’d have liked, but it was still nice. I also stirred in some cooked prawns into my portion (P doesn’t like prawns, for some bizarre reason).
Bill of fare for Saturday, 22nd March
Breakfast:
Hot cross bun + green tea.
Lunch:
Met up with a friend from work for dim sum at Wing Yip. Amongst the food consumed: har kau (prawn dumplings), paper-wrapped prawns, beef cheung fun, fried dough stick cheung fun, mixed meats with crispy fried noodles, turnip paste with dried meats (A’s favourite), and loads of other things I can’t remember.
Dinner:
Since dim sum is always so filling (or we always order too much), we never really bother with dinner. Having said that, we were peckish enough to make some tuna mayonnaise and sweetcorn baguettes to munch on during Grand Designs revisited.
